Nominating Someone for Early Career Researcher Award

Early Career Researcher Award in Learning Technologies that IEEE TCLT gives is recognizing a researcher who is in his or her early career stage – less than 10 years after he or she receives his or her doctoral degree, has conducted high quality research results and produced and disseminated outcome worldwide.

Qualification

  • Must be a participating member of IEEE TCLT at the time of the nomination and during the upcoming ICALT conference when receiving the Award. Participating member of IEEE TCLT is free to join at https://tinyurl.com/joinieeetclt.
  • Must be in his or her early career stage – less than 10 years after he or she receives his or her doctoral degree, at the time of nomination.

Important Dates

  • Winter Selection process and dates will be announced later in the end of 2019.
  • Nomination package submitted to TCLT Chair, Maiga Chang at maiga.chang(at)gmail.com via email by May 24, 2019.
  • Winner will be selected by Award Panel and notified by June 7, 2019.

Nomination Process

  • Nomination can only be made by ACTIVE IEEE Computer Society Member who is also a TCLT participating member and the nomination should be sent to TCLT Chair directly via email. TCLT participating member can be free to join at https://tinyurl.com/joinieeetclt.
  • TCLT Award Panel will assess the nominations and select the suitable awardees by voting.

Selection Criteria

In the nomination package, it would be necessary to include the justifications and required documents as evidences for all of the following selection criteria:

  1. Research quality and impact
  2. Publication quality and influence
  3. Community service

Nomination Package

  • Nomination form for IEEE TCLT Early Career Researcher Award in Learning Technologies. Nomination Form can be downloaded at HERE.
  • THREE representative publications.
  • Other necessary supporting documents.

Award

  • The winner will receive an IEEE TCLT Early Career Researcher Award in Learning Technologies Certificate in the same year’s ICALT conference.
  • The winner’s name will be announced on IEEE TCLT website at https://tc.computer.org/tclt/awards/.
  • The winner will be invited to give a talk in ICALT or T4E within the next FIVE years after he or she receives the award.

NOTE: The award winner SHALL ATTEND the same year’s ICALT IN PERSON to receive the award. The award will be revoked if the award winner doesn’t show up at the same year’s ICALT.
